Online poker titans to clash in Gibraltar court
Gaming group Empire Online said on Tuesday it had begun legal proceedings in Gibraltar’s High Court against former partner PartyGaming, claiming a breach of contract.
“The company seeks substantial damages and injunctive relief from PartyGaming,” Empire said.
Empire gave no further details, but a source close to the company said Empire was claiming that PartyGaming had breached contracts by marketing to Empire’s best customers after breaking up their previous alliance.
PartyGaming dismissed the news. “We congratulate Empire on kick-starting the pantomime season,” PartyGaming’s Director of Communications, John Shepherd, said.
“We remain confident of a successful outcome to the litigation with Empire,” he said.
